Set against the backdrop of the Graincorp silos and Newcastle Harbour, Carrington Silo House is a multi-generational home with family, food and entertaining at its core. The plan is focused on a central void that provides a visual connection between living spaces and allows natural light and cross ventilation to all areas within the home. Expansive views of the Throsby Creek, Honeysuckle and working harbour are afforded throughout the house. The industrial location of the site is reflected in the material palette with board-form concrete, weathered timber, steel and glass.
