Located on the corner of Darby Street and Bar Beach Avenue in Newcastle, the Bar Beach Park Residences respond to both their urban and natural environments. The three-storey development consisting of two large, open-plan apartments is informed by the inner-city context with its regimented, minimalist design. Of equal importance was the need to respond to the coastal environment by way of robust material selections. Views of the beach and adjacent parkland, solar access and cross ventilation are maximised through strategic site planning and orientation.
